Beverly Ann Thomas
Beverly Ann Thomas who passed away September 13, 2015, nee Beverly Gardner, was born in Nashua, NH November 11, 1933 to Ester and Jeff Gardner. She graduated from Nashua High School. Later, Bev earned her Registered Nurse credentials, of which she was very proud and put to good use. In the late 1970s, pained by witnessing those in need, she was instrumental in petitioning the state of New Hampshire for resources to open a shelter in downtown Nashua which she managed for years.Whether it was saving a lost kitten, knitting premature infant afghans, organizing care packages to be sent to troops in the Middle East or rallying the Boy Scouts to help families in need, Bev demonstrated her drive to help and compassion for humanity. She was named Elk’s volunteer of the year. She was as passionate for crafting as she was at her nursing craft. There was always a new project. Crocheted afghans, holiday ornaments, refrigerator magnates, greeting cards; her craft room runneth over.Stubbornly opinionated, funny, feisty and sometimes pugnacious, you always knew where you stood with this committed life-long New Englander. She was employed for 25 years with Raytheon in Nashua. Later she worked at Langdon Place as an RN. Beverly is survived by her brother and his wife, Al and Pauline Gardner; children John Thomas (and his wife Jane Thomas), Randy Thomas (and his partner Steve Scalise), Jay Thomas (and his partner Dinell Clark) and Lisa St. Denis. She is also survived by niece, Bonnie Gardner and four grandchildren, Jennifer Nutt, Ashley St. Denis, Kayla Thomas and Nicole Thomas.A celebration of her life will be determined soon. Please log onto Face book, and search Beverly Thomas.
