A Nashua man has been arrested in connection with the August 22 shooting on East Dunstable Road that put another man in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Michael McNulty, 22, of 1 B East Dunstable Road turned himself in on an active warrant shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, according to Nashua Police. McNulty was charged with felony reckless conduct and was released on a $5,000 bail pending his arraignment at Nashua district court on Sept. 30, 2015.

The incident took place during a gathering Saturday night at McNulty’s home, near Downtown Nashua. McNutly reportedly had friends over and was handling a loaded revolver in the basement when the firearm discharged. The bullet went through a wall and hit a 21-year old male victim in the back.

Nashua police Lt. James Testaverde of the Criminal Investigation Division said McNulty and the victim knew each other.

Police were first notified after the victim arrived at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

Following the shooting, McNulty fled the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital by friends where he was treated for a non-life-threatening injury. The firearm was later recovered by investigators.

Testaverde said McNulty was aware the bullet struck the victim after it happened.

Based on the investigation, Nashua detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging McNulty with the Class B Felony, which is punishable by up to seven years in State Prison plus fines.

Police asked anyone with information relevant to the investigation to call the Nashua Police Crime Line at 589-1665.
