Gateways Community Services honored

By Staff | Aug 16, 2010

NASHUA – The Center on Human Policy at Syracuse University in New York has recognized Gateways Community Services, of Nashua, for the second time in 20 years for the innovative approaches the nonprofit organization is taking with its Consumer Directed Services program.

The recognition is specifically for the self-directing and individualized services for those with developmental disabilities.

“To be recognized a second time by this progressive establishment is a rare honor and a testament to the passionate and forward-thinking people at Gateways,” said Sandra Pelletier, Gateways president and CEO.

The center is preparing a final report on Gateways to be part of a series of national reports on organizational transformation.

“What makes Gateways stand out as an innovator is the companywide philosophical approach, organizationally and operationally, toward Consumer Directed Services,” said Pamela Walker, Ph.D., is a research associate at the center, “and the fact that Gateways has continually evolved over the years to better meet the needs of individuals and families.”
