MRT hosts young actor auditions for ‘A Christmas Carol’
LOWELL, Mass. – Merrimack Repertory Theatre will host auditions for young actors between the ages of eight and 16 for A Christmas Carol on Aug. 1 in Lowell; Aug. 6 in Nashua; and Aug. 8 in Concord, Massachusetts, according to Nancy L. Donahue Artistic Director Courtney Sale. MRT will present this world premiere production of A Christmas Carol, adapted and directed by Sale, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 24.
Students will need to prepare a one-minute monologue, poem, or story, and bring a recent picture and short resume to the audition. Students will be called in groups of 12 for a one-hour group audition. Sale said the audition is meant to be a fun, supportive, and collaborative workshop. Children of all cultures and ethnicities are highly encouraged to audition. Students must be fully vaccinated to participate.
