By Staff | Sep 11, 2021

PETERBOROUGH – Four local writing, literary and publishing organizations have teamed up to sponsor the Monadnock Literary Buzz: Fall Into Reading author festival on Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Peterborough Community Center at 25 Elm St. Peterborough Poetry Project, Monadnock Underground, the Peterborough Town Library, and Toadstool Bookshops will be jointly hosting the event, which will include 24 published authors.

The authors – including known luminaries such as Howard Mansfield, Dan Szczesny, NH Poet Laureate Alexandria Peary, Lynn Burke, Lila Grey, and Abbi Glines – will be available to meet and talk with fans and will have copies of their works for sale and signing. Poet and Peterborough Poetry Project founder Bill Chatfield will have a table, as will Monadnock Underground, featuring author and Creative Director Chris DiLoreto and Editor-in-Chief Zoë Wroten-Heinzmann. Genres represented include personal essay, poetry, memoir, literary fiction, speculative fiction, romance, history, children’s, and more.

The event is free to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to win raffle prizes, including free copies of select books donated by the authors. The event promises to offer unique access for both readers and writers alike to those who craft some of their favorite books.

“This event is in response to requests from dozens of Monadnock area readers and thinkers,” Chatfield said. “Our assembly of authors with their array of thought-provoking books will keep readers entertained through the long local winter.”

In accordance with Peterborough town policy, masks will be required while inside the Community Center.
