Historical Society sets open house

By Staff | Oct 24, 2019

MILFORD – Humphrey Moore was the first settled pastor in Milford. He was a farmer, author, abolitionist and legislator. His importance and contributions to the history of Milford will be the subject of discussion with the Rev. Dr. Alex Gondola during the November open house.

Gondola is the former interim pastor at the First Congregational Church, where Rev. Moore also served. Moore was the focus of Gondola’s second Master’s degree in history.

The open house will be an informal come-and-go event. Many documents, artifacts and pictures relating to Rev. Moore will be on hand. Come and learn more about Moore by seeing his work, examining historical artifacts and by hearing about his legacy.

The open house is set for 2-4 p.m. on Nov. 9-10 at the Carey House Museum, located at 6 Union St., Milford. Please use the accessible entrance on the driveway side of the building.
