N.H. authors to be honored at ceremony

By Staff | Sep 26, 2019

GOFFSTOWN – The New Hampshire Writers Project is hosting the 13th New Hampshire Literary Awards on Oct. 5. The event is taking place on the St. Anselm College campus in the new Roger and Francine Jean Student Center from 4 to 6 p.m.

A panel of judges composed of teachers, non-competing authors and editors reviewed the books. There are five categories: Middle/Young Adult; Children’s Picture Books; Non-Fiction; Fiction; and Poetry. Books must be written by New Hampshire authors and must have been published between April 1, 2016, and December 31, 2018, to be considered.

“There are hundreds of authors living in our state,” said Claudia Decker, who is this year’s chair of the awards. She also is a writer and high school teacher in Nashua. “The New Hampshire Literary Awards present a wonderful opportunity to recognize the talent and diversity of writers.”
