Coronavirus Cancellations & Postponements

The following is a list of cancellations because of concerns over the coronavirus:

HIGH SCHOOLS & UNIVERSITIES

• All schools in New Hampshire have canceled in-person classes through April 3, as ordered by Gov. Chris Sununu. The governor ordered that remote learning must start no later than March 23. Individual school district will make their own plans and contact parents. Check back at www.nashuatelegraph.com for additional details as they become available.

• All Catholics schools in New Hampshire have called off classes

• Franklin Pierce University has made several adjustments to its classes because of coronavirus. Spring break is scheduled for next week. In-person classes in the university’s Ringe are suspended the week of March 23. Classes will then transition to online instruction the week of March 30 until at least April 6. Graduate studies in Lebanon, Manchester and Portsmouth also will be conducted online. In addition, as of March 12, the NCAA announced the cancellation of all spring athletic practices and competitions.

• All Rivier University classes will move to an online-only format from March 16-27, university officials said. All residence Halls will close, effective March 17. University offices will be closed from March 16-20.

• New England College, with campuses in Henniker and Manchester, will shift from in-person classes to a remote format using online instruction and video conferencing beginning March 18. The shift will remain in place thorough April 3, when the plan will be reviewed, and future actions determined.

ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

• The YMCA of Greater Nashua is closed from March 17 to April 5.

• The Nashua Lions Club has postponed its Green Auction until early fall.

• The J. A. Tarbell Library in Lyndeborough has rescheduled its March 16 presentation, “Discoveries in Bird Migration” presentation to June 15.

• The Nashua Republican City Committee has canceled the NRCC meeting set for March 19 at the Nashua Country Club.

• The Hollis Historical Society has canceled its March 19 presentation, 12,000 Years Ago in the Granite State.

• The 12th annual New Hampshire Jewish Film Festival, scheduled for March 19-29, has been postponed.

• The Farewell Ms. Boo! event at the Brookline Public Library, scheduled for March 20, has been canceled. Officials hope to rescheduled the event.

• Waypoint SleepOut 2020 in Manchester and Exeter, set for March 20, has been changed to a “virtual” event. Instead of gathering at the designated sleep sites, participants in the SleepOut are being asked to stay at home on March 20, and sleep on the floor or in the yard or in some other less than comfortable way, while continuing to conduct their online fundraising campaigns.

• The Brookline Public Library is closed until April 3. Starting Wednesday, the library will provide curbside pickup on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

• The Nashua Public Library has canceled its Book & Media sales, which was scheduled for March 20-22.

• Manchester Community Theater Players has postponed its show, “Miriam,” which was scheduled for March 20-22.

• The Mayor’s Winter Reading Challenge ceremony in Nashua, scheduled for March 21, has been canceled.

• The YMCA of Greater Nashua has canceled its annual Bunny Hop event, originally scheduled for March 21.

• Girls at Work Inc. has postponed its Diva Comedy Night at the Dana Center at Saint Anselm College from March 21 to Sept. 12.

• The Nashua Community Concert Association has canceled its Maxwell Quartet show, which was scheduled for March 22.

• The Central Mass Woman’s Caucus for Art opening at Creative Ventures Gallery on March 22 in Milford has been canceled.

• The Nashua Chamber Orchestra has canceled its March 21-22 performances.

• The United Way of Greater Nashua has canceled its Volunteer Fair, set for March 25, at the Nashua Senior Activity Center.

• The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua has canceled the Youth of the Year Dinner & Hall of Fame Celebration on March 25. The club is planning alternative ways to recognize the achievements of its Youth of the Year candidates and Hall of Fame inductees and the generosity of its sponsors. More details will be provided at a later date.

• The Styx concert at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom – originally set for March 26 – has been postponed until further notice. All other shows at the venue are currently scheduled as planned.

• The Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce has postponed its WOW Conference, originally scheduled for March 27 at the Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury. The new date for the event is June 25. Additional information will be announced closer to the new event date.

• Monster Jam, scheduled for March 28-29 at Southern New Hampshire Arena in Manchester, has been postponed. The new date will be announced soon.

• The Franco-American Singer performance at the Nashua Public Library has been canceled. The event was scheduled for March 29.

• The Nashua Choral Society has canceled its March 29 concert. A fall date will be confirmed and communicated.

• The Nashua Garden Club has canceled its April 1 program.

The Nashua Transit Matters meeting, scheduled for April 14, has been canceled. The next Transit Matters meeting will be at 3 p.m. June 9 in City Hall room 208.

• United Way of Greater Nashua has canceled its inaugural Youth Sleepout, originally scheduled for April 17-18.

• The Boston Marathon has been postponed for Sept. 14. The race was originally scheduled for April 20.

• The Breakfast Exchange Club of Nashua has postponed its annual “PotatoFest,” originally scheduled for April 27, at the Nashua Senior Activity Center. The fundraiser has been rescheduled for Sept. 28 at the Senior Center.

• Several language group events at the Nashua Public Library have been canceled until further notice, including the Polish Discussion Group, The French Conversation Group and the Italian Conversation Group.

• The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce has suspended all events until further notice. This includes the Eminence Awards, Legislative Crossover Reception, Business After Hours and iUGO events.

• The Merrimack Repertory Theatre has postponed the remainder of its 2019-2020 season, as well as its annual gala. “The Lowell Offering,” originally scheduled to begin next week, will now play May 14 to June 7. “Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End” will play a truncated scheduled from June 17-28, with a final week of performances July 7-12. Further information regarding the May 29 gala will be released soon.

• The Rotary Club of Nashua has canceled its meetings for the next two weeks.

• The Nashua Senior Activity Center will be closed for two weeks, beginning Monday, in order to safeguard its members. A reassessment will be made on March 27.

• The New Hampshire Democratic Party Headquarters will be closed starting Monday.

• The MacDowell Colony in Peterborough will close temporarily due to the coronavirus.

• The Hollis Town Band has suspend all rehearsals and concerts until at least April 8.

• The Aviation Museum of New Hampshire will be closed to the public through the end of the month.

• The Wilton Public & Gregg Free Library is closed until further notice.

• The Hollis Social Library will be closed to patrons until further notice.

ATHLETICS

• The New Hampshire Fisher Cats season has been postponed.

GOVERNMENT

• All criminal and civil jury trials in Superior Court have been canceled for the next 30 days.

• The State House is closed to the public and all lawmakers.

BUSINESSES

• All restaurants and bars are closed to in-person patronage.

• The Holden Salon and Gallery in Milford is closed until March 27.

• Tupelo Music Hall is closed until further notice.

• Gate City Bike Co-op is closed until further notice.

• Chunky’s Cinema Pub is closed until further notice.
