More than 200 come out for annual Veteran Stand Down
MANCHESTER — A crowd of more than 200 people, including 156 veterans, filled Eversource Energy Park for the 22nd annual New Hampshire Veteran Stand Down on Sept. 18. Hosted by Harbor Care and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the event gave veterans the opportunity to meet with organizations offering housing assistance, employment services, food, clothing as well as medical and mental health care. “Stand Down is about making sure veterans and their families can find support without having to navigate it alone,” said Henry Och, president and CEO of Harbor Care. “More than 50 organizations came together ready to help and veterans showed up for each other.
