Booras targets cost of living in re-election campaign
NASHUA - State Rep. Efstathia Booras (D-Nashua), who has led Hillsborough District 8 since 2012, is looking for two more years in Concord. She said the overall cost of living continues to be the top concern among her constituents. According to Reverie Residential, the median household income needed to afford life in the Granite State is $95,628, the average monthly rent is $1,834 and the average cost of a single-family home is $525,000. “Families are struggling with the cost of housing, property taxes, healthcare, food, utilities and child care,” said Booras. “High property taxes are especially difficult for homeowners on fixed incomes. We also need more affordable housing and more opportunities for working families to own a home.
