St. Joe’s nationally certified as Level 3 trauma center
NASHUA – The American College of Surgeons recently recognized St. Joseph Hospital as a national Level 3 trauma center. According to the ACS, a Level 3 trauma center “provides definitive care to patients with mild to moderate injuries, allowing patients to be cared for closer to home. These centers also have processes in place for the prompt evaluation, initial management and transfer of patients whose needs might exceed the resources available.” Since Jan. 1, all Level 3 trauma centers in New Hampshire were required to be certified by the ACS, according to the state’s trauma system plan.
