NH firefighters back Goodlander for Congress
NASHUA - The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire recently pledged its support for Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (D-NH) as she looks to secure a second term representing the Second Congressional District on Capitol Hill. The endorsement recognized Goodlander for her work in co-sponsoring the Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act, which was signed into law in December 2025 and included in this year’s federal defense bill. The law makes it easier for families, who have lost firefighters to job-related cancers, to receive government benefits. John McAllister, secretary-treasurer of the PFFNH, said four names were added to the New Hampshire Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Concord on Sept. 26. They are Lt. Charles Gallant of the Rye Fire Department, who died in 2023 at the age of 56, Capt. William Connor of the Goffstown Fire Department, who died in 2024 at the age of 63, ...
