Emubor leads UNH to nail biting 59-58 win over Stonehill
DURHAM – Junior guard Comeh Emuobor made the go-ahead free throw with 50 seconds remaining and finished with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds to lift the University of New Hampshire men’s basketball team to Wednesday night’s 59-58 victory against Stonehill College at Lundholm Gym.
Emuobor made two foul shots with 50 seconds on the clock to transform UNH’s one-point deficit into a 57-56 lead. Following a Stonehill turnover, junior guard KiJan Robinson was sent to the foul line and made both shots to extend the margin to 59-56 with 16 seconds to play.
Herrman Koffi missed a 3-pointer from the right wing with two seconds left and Ridvan Tutic tipped in the offensive rebound with 0.5 seconds on the clock to trim the deficit to 59-58. UNH passed the ball to the frontcourt, where Robinson came down with possession to end the game.
Emuobor, who led UNH in both points and rebounds, recorded a career-high 10 rebounds as part of his first career double-double. He also had a personal best of four steals. Junior guard Jack Graham and redshirt freshman guard R.J. Kennedy both scored 10 points.
Tutic led the Skyhawks with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
UNH won its second consecutive game to improve to 4-1 at home and 4-7 overall. Stonehill is 3-9.
UNH returns to action Sunday at 3 p.m. EST at Saint Louis and the Wildcats end the 2025 calendar year and non-conference portion of the schedule Dec. 30 at Nebraska.
