The Nashua Silver Knights were unable to carry the momentum over from their first win Tuesday in 11 games, falling to the Worcester Bravehearts 6-3 before a Fitton Field crowd of 1,526.

Nashua is now back to being a game behind New Britain for the fourth and final FCBL playoff spot; the Bees edged Westfield 3-2 last night.

Nashua was propelled by its bullpen in this game; however, the start was not great for them as starter Andrew Chenevert would run into some trouble early. Chenevert, who has been one of the most reliable arms for Nashua, would start the game great as he was able to get three up and three down in the first. In the second and third innings, however, is where the trouble would come. Following his lockdown inning, the starter would let two runs score as Worcester capitalized on two doubles to start the frame.

In the third, Chenevert would not fare much better as he would let up two runs; however, one was unearned as the Knights committed an error to let a runner aboard. This would end the day for the Knights starter as he showed a decent outing in his limited innings.

The 23-30 Knights’ big inning offensively was in the fifth as they were able to get multiple runners aboard, which would lead to them scoring two runs, one on a wild pitch and another on a Jayden Hamilton RBI single, cutting the deficit in half.

The Nashua bullpen would come in following their starter and do their job, as they only allowed two runs in four innings of work. Hunter Ward and Kevin Rourke would each let up one run on the day, as Ward would go four innings and Rourke would go just one.

The Bravehearts (32-15) had six players drive in a run each, led by Curt Boyd who went 3 for 4.

The Knights would get one more run late on a Jake Haarde RBI single, however, it was too little too late as the Worcester offense was too great to overcome. Haarde was 3 for 4, while Patterson was 2 for 3 and Londonderry’s Hamilton 2 for 5.

Nashua returns to Worcester tonight before heading to Norwich on Friday for their seventh straight road game.

The Silver Knights return home on Saturday vs. Westfield.
