Host Panthers dominate Rivier women’s soccer, 6-0

PLYMOUTH — The Rivier women’s soccer team was bested by non-conference opponent Plymouth St. on Monday afternoon at Panther Field by a final score of 6-0.

With the result, the Raiders dropped to 0-2-0 while the Panthers improved to 2-0-0.

The Panthers pounced first in the 17th minute and added two more goals before halftime, taking a commanding 3-0 lead into the break.

The second half saw the Panthers match their first half performance as they scored three additional goals to close out the game with a 6-0 victory.

Junior goalkeeper Bri Nugent recorded five saves in the contest.

The Raiders will cap off a three-game road trip in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener against Norwich on Saturday, September 7 at Sabine Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
