Wagner drops UNH to 3-3 with 70-48 women’s hoop win

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team fell at Wagner, 70-48 on Sunday at the Spiro Sports Center in non-conference play.

The Wildcats drop to 3-3 overall with the loss, while the Seahawks improve to 4-1 on the season after the victory.

Junior guard Brooke Kane of Derry led the Wildcats’ offense with 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting, while sophomore guard Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.) chipped in with nine points and two steals.

Junior forward Ivy Gogolin (Hopkinton, Mass.) and sophomore guard Bella Stuart (Clifton Park, N.Y.) each notched seven points apiece in the losing effort.

The Wildcats trailed 39-17 at halftime.

UNH owned a 28-26 advantage in points in the paint against Wagner in the loss.

Linda Loceniece totaled a game-high 15 points in the victory for the Seahawks.

UNH returns to action on Wednesday, December 1 at Brown. Game time from the Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence is 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
