Nashua Silver Knights fend off Norwich

NORWICH, Conn. – The Nashua Silver Knights took charge quickly and held on Tuesday night for a 4-2 victory over the Norwich Sea Unicorns, their sixth straight win.

Mistakes by Norwich put the Silver Knights in the drivers seat with two runs scoring in the first inning. Brandon Fish and Connor Hujsak drew walks, with Fish eventually scoring on an error and Hujsak coming in on a wild pitch.

Logan Ott walked with two outs in the fourth and Fish drove him in on a double.

The Silver Knights scored single runs in the eighth and ninth innings. After Jack Penney walked and stole second in the eighth, Jackson Linn singled him to third and Nate Goranson drove him in on a fielder’s choice.

Hujsak singled and stole second in the ninth, eventually scoring on from third on Sam McNulty’s sacrifice fly.

Shea Ryan work 5-2/3 innings for the Silver Knights, allowing one run on five hits to pick up the win.

Nashua is scheduled for a doubleheader Wednesday at New Britain, then return to Holman Stadium on Thursday to take on Westfield at 6 p.m.
