Legion Roundup: Nashua routs Salem, Hudson falls 2-1

The Nashua James E. Coffey Post and Hudson Post 48 baseball teams warmed up for today’s rematch in different ways on Wednesday.

Nashua improved to 7-1 in District B with a rout of Salem, while Hudson was edged in a tight one at Alvirne High School, falling to Portsmouth.

Either way, the two teams are set to play today at 5:30 p.m. at Bishop Guertin High School’s Elliott Field.

Here’s what they did on Wednesday:

NASHUA COFFEY POST 13,

SALEM 3

Padraig Mac Seain went 3 for 3 with three runs scored. Isaac Zhang had two hits, including a double, with two runs and two RBIs. Drew Gryniewicz had a double and two RBIs, while Jake Mitchell (2 for 4, double, RBI) and Kam Thibault (3 for 4, double, three RBIs) had big nights.

Nolan Mederos earned the win on the mound, allowing two earned runs on four hits in four innings, striking out three.

PORTSMMOUTH 2,

HUDSON POST 48 1

Booma Post improved to 7-3, dropping the 48ers to 5-5 behind three hits by Max Lalime and Devon Paquette’s two hits and an RBI. Damon Chase tossed 6.2 innings of two hit ball, striking out seven.
