DURHAM, N.H. – The UNH women’s soccer team has withdrawn from the Spring 2021 America East Women’s Soccer Championship in accordance with COVID-19 protocols within the program.

The Wildcats (5-2, 2-2 America East) had qualified for the four-team tournament as the second-place finisher in Division A.

The move ends the special spring season for UNH that was created after the pandemic cancelled the usual fall campaign.

That makes two UNH teams that had to have their special spring seasons cut short. The UNH football team had to cancel the remainder of its campaign due to COVID protocols. The Wildcats played just one game back on March 5.

Both programs are expected to return for a more conventional fall season in late August.
