NASHUA – Break up the Silver Knights.

On second thought, if you’re a fan of winning baseball, don’t.

The Knights captured their fourth straight win on Saturday night in dramatic fashion, as Nick Shumski’s second home walk-off hit of the summer produced a 3-2 win over the New Britain Bees in front of 485 happy fans at Holman Stadium.

Nashua is now 18-11, and tied for first in the FCBL with the Worcester Bravehearts (17-10), who lost to Brockton 8-0 yesterday. The Bravehearts actually have the edge in winning percentage, .630-.621. Both teams are up 4.5 games for the two FCBL playoff spots.

The Silver Knights ninth inning rally began when Luke Beckstein led off against Bees reliever Ben Talbot with a walk. Beckstein advanced to second on a throwing error, and after two strikeouts, Shumski roped an 0-1 pitch into left to plate Beckstein with the game-winner. It was his second RBI of the game, while Beckstein, who went 2 for 2, scored all three runs for Nashua.

It made a winner out of Knights reliever Steve Miller, who pitched a scoreless ninth, walking one and striking out two.

The Silver Knights got outstanding pitching, as starter Pat Harrington went 7.1 innings, allowing two runs on five hits. He walked two and struck out four, lowering his earned run average to 3.13.

Nashua trailed 2-1 after six but tied it on a Shumski bases loaded sac fly to left, scoring Beckstein, who had walked earlier and advanced to second on a walk to Lucas Stalman and to third on a single by Troy Shreffler, Jr.

Beckstein homered on 2-1 offering from New Britain starter Alex Price to give Nashua a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth.
