It’s been a long climb but the Nashua Silver Knights have finally gotten there.

To the top of the above .500 mountain, that is.

Nashua finally has a winning record after 11 games, improving to 6-5 with a thrilling 5-4 win over the New Britain (Conn.) Bees Wednesday night at New Britain Stadium.

Nashua was down 3-2 going into the top of the ninth and scored three runs to take the lead. New Britain managed a run in the bottom of the ninth but Nashua reliever Steve Miller struck out the last two batters he faced to end the game.

Lucas Stalman hit a solo homer to tie the game in the ninth, then Mike Rounds hit a two-run double to give the Knights the lead.

New Britain loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth off relievers Brandon Dufault and Miller, and Miller hit NB’s Andrew Cain to force in a run. But then he fanned Mike Caruso and Tony Socci to end things.

On the night, the Silver Knights had two-hit nights from Stalman, Troy Schreffler, Jr., Mike Rounds and Jared Dupere. Dupere also had two walks and reached base four times.

Nick Guarino got the win on the mound for Nashua, tossing two innings of scoreless relief, allowing one hit, a walk, while striking out three.

Nashua continues on the road today, visiting Brockton at 5 p.m., the second game of four straight away from Holman Stadium.
