Local baseball roundup: Merrimack’s NHCBL woes ongoing
The struggles are still ongoing for the Merrimack NHCBL squad.
After a 3-0 start, the locals have seen their losing streak extended to five games after a 9-0 road defeat at Upper Valley on Friday.
Joe Shepard was the lone bright spot for Merrimack, going 2 for 2 with a double.
The 3-5 locals next take on Seacoast Pirates Navy on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Nashua is also struggling, at just 2-5. The Defenders are slated to resume a suspended game on Sunday with the New Hampshire Prospects Red at 5:30 p.m. The game is scoreless in the top of the fourth. Nashua then visits Exeter on Monday.

There was no local NEIBL varsity action on Friday, but Saturday’s scheduled doubleheader between Merrimack and Hudson at Alvirne has been moved to Sunday. Game times are at 3 and 5:30 p.m.
Amherst is slated to host Durham today in a twinbill at Souhegan High School beginning at 10 a.m.
