NASHUA – The Nashua Lions Club once again is recognizing the city’s rich sports tradition, as they announced their 2019 inductees for the Holman Stadium Sports Legends Hall of Fame on Wednesday.

Set to be inducted this year is the father-son team of the late Bolic “Bouncer” Tamulevich and son Carl Tamulevich, as well as another former Nashua High School athlete and Tamulevich teammate, Frank Ulcickas.

Bolic Tamulevich, who passed away in 1972, captained the 1929 Nashua football team and also played on the 1930 state title team. His teams compiled a 24-3 record on the gridiron with him playing. He lettered in football, basketball but also baseball, and was on the Nashua state title baseball team his senior season, starting at first base and playing alongside another enshrined Holman Legend, George “Birdie” Tebbetts.

Carl Tamulevich graduated from Nashua in 1961 and as a running back was part of the famed “Tammy and Grammy” backfield, paired with fellow back Don Grandmaison. He earned All-State honors in football, basketball and baseball, and after graduating Tamulevich lettered in football and lacrosse at the U.S. Naval Academy.

He is currently one of the athletic department staff members under athletic director Chet Gladchuk at the Naval Academy in Annapolis,Md., specifically a Senior Associate A.D./Scheduling and Team Support. As for his military career, Tamulevich retired from the Navy with the rank of Commander.

Ulcickas, who still lives in Nashua, was a football state champion playing alongside Tamulevich as an All-State end, the key receiver on passing downs.

Ulcickas also went on to serve as a tight ends coach at Nashua under legendary coaches Buzz Harvey and Tony Mirandos.

Ulcickas and Carl Tamulevich and their families will be honored in a pre- Fireworks ceremony at Holman on July 4, joined by Nashua Mayor James Donchess, Lions Club president Mike Francoeur and other Lions Club members.
