CrossFit Tuff Row-a-Thon for Nashua Special Olympics

The second annual CrossFit Tuff Row-a-Thon, to benefit the Nashua Special Olympics, is scheduled for Saturday at the CrossFit Tuff facility, 14 Broad St. in Nashua.

The competition is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and run through 5 p.m. Teams of between five and 10 will row 26.2 miles. Rowers must be at least 10 years old to participate. There remain spots available for individuals and those looking to join a team.

Last year the comepetition drew 110 rowers; this year the field is hoped to reach 150-175. Based on numbers and donations the fundraising goal is $10,000.

A band will be on hand and other “Feats Of Strength” competitions will be open to all.

There is a $50 fee per competitor, with all proceeds going to the Nashua Special Olympics organization, the largest local SO program in southern New Hampshire with neaerly 400 athletes, coaches, volunteers and family members, who work together to train, organize and promote athletic opportunities for Special Olympics athletes.

The Nashua Special Olympics serve the Greater Nashua area that includies Hudson, Litchfield, Lyndeborough, Merrimack, Milford, Pelham and Hollis.
