Silver Knights putting Scalabrine to work

By Staff | Mar 14, 2013

The Nashua Silver Knights, two-time Futures Collegiate Baseball League Champions, have made their latest, and certainly tallest, hire for the 2013 season in announcing they will be putting NBA Champion and Boston Celtics fan-favorite Brian Scalabrine to work at Holman Stadium on Thursday, July 11.

Scalabrine, who won a NBA Championship as a member of the 2008 Celtics and currently serves as an analyst for Comcast SportsNet New England, will join the Silver Knights staff performing a variety of roles.

“While we typically don’t begin our hiring season until the spring, when you have the opportunity to bring someone as talented as ‘Scal’ on board, you can’t pass up the opportunity,” Silver Knights President Tim Bawmann said. “The people of New Hampshire love Scal, and so do we, so we are thrilled to have him coming to Holman Stadium!”

During his day at Holman, Scalabrine will act as the biggest bat-boy in Silver Knights history, pour you a draft beer from the Concession Stand, or perform PA duties along with many other work activities.

“Hearing Brian’s analysis during Celtics broadcasts, he’s a natural behind the microphone, so we look forward to using him as a special Public Address Announcer during the game,” Bawmann said.

An 11-year NBA veteran, Scalabrine is beloved in Boston and beyond for his outgoing personality and dedication to, well everything. He is a weekly guest on the 98.5 The Sports Hub Toucher and Rich Show and recently took on local amateurs in a one-on-one contest in a promotion organized by the show.

“New England has the best sports fans in the world. I can’t wait to work at the game and help out wherever needed,” Scalabrine said. “It’s going to be a fun time so make sure you buy tickets and help put me to work!”
