HS Roundup: North boys hoop wins again; Milford girls fall

All the Nashua High School North boys basketball team knows how to do is win.

The Titans, who lost top shooter Thomas Laurendi to a broken leg at the end of regulation in Wednesday night’s game, prevailed over Manchester Memorial pn Thursday, one of the lightest nights of the month on the local high school docket.

The Milford girls, however, fell to a strong Lebanon team while the Souhegan girls hockey team did the same at the hands of Oyster River-Portsmouth.

BOYS BASKETBALL

NASHUA NORTH 71,

MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 45

The Titans filled the gap left by Laurendi’s injury with 17 points each from Trevor Labrecque and Jayden Montgomery, while Parth Miglani had 13, Jack Peters 10 and Robinson Rodriquez six points.

North (12-3) wraps up a 3-0 week after the tough loss last Friday to Nashua South, and will next host Concord on Monday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

LEBANON 42,

MILFORD 26

The Raiders size and experience proved to be too much for the Spartans (9-7), playing on the second of back-to-back nights.

Freshman Ellianna Nassy had a breakout game for Milford with 12 points, all in the second half. Junior Bailey Johnson added eight points while solid defensive work was put in by Addie Hopkins and Kate Hansen. Catherine Cole led 10-4 Lebanon with 18 points.

A three-game win streak snapped, Milford visits Pelham tonight for its third game in three nights.

GIRLS HOCKEY

OYSTER RIVER-PORTSMOUTH 8,

SOUHEGAN 0

A tough season for the Sabers continued on the seacoast for the 0-7 Sabers, as they became the 10th straight victim for the Bobcat-Clippers (10-1).

Souhegan returns to action on Sunday vs. Bedford at Saint Anselm’s Sullivan Arena.

WRESTLING

BISHOP GUERTIN 45,

GOFFSTOWN 12

The Cards dominated with pins by Kaelem Wagner (152), Will Murphy (160), Matt Ha (170), James Murphy (182), Charlie Bellavance (195) and Rocco Geraci (285). John Forcier also had a 6-4 decision win at 126.
