HS Roundup: HB’s Stapelfeld hits 1,000; North, BG boys win

They continue to be arguably the two best Division I boys basketball teams in the area, as both the Nashua North and Bishop Guertin teams picked up wins on Monday night, BG winning its seventh straight while the Titans rebounded from a tough loss to rival Nashua South this past Friday.

But the night belonged to Hollis Brookline girls hoop standout Elisabeth Stapelfeld, who reached the 1,000 point plateau in the Cavs’ easy win over Sanborn.

It was a tough afternoon for Nashua hockey, as both the Kings and Saber-Titans fell, but the BG girls stayed unbeaten with a win over Lebanon-Kearsarge-Stevens.

And here’s an out of town girls hoop final in Division I: Bedford 62, Pinkerton 58, as Bedford’s Lana McCarthy had 26 points. That knocks off Pinkerton (13-1) from the ranks of the unbeatens and means that Division I has quite a relationship going among the Big 3: BG beat Bedford, Pinkerton beat BG, and Bedford has now beaten Pinkerton.

Meanwhile, back to and all local Monday:
