HS Hoop Roundup: Tomahawk girls off to 2-0 start

The Merrimack High School girls basketball team is now 2-0 after a win over Alvirne on Tuesday night, while the Bishop Guertin girls followed up their hard fought win over Bedford with a rout of Londonderry.

Here’s a look at Tuesday night’s hardwood results:

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MERRIMCK 54,

ALVIRNE 44

The Tomahawks outscored the Broncos 23-9 in the third quarter to move to 2-0 on the season.

Gillan Waller had 16 to lead Merrimack, while Lilli Dabillis added 13, Emma Valluzzi eight (with three steals and five assists) and Keira Bike eight with four steals.

Paige McKinley had 19 to lead Alvirne (0-2) while Ally Scharn added 10.

The two teams will meet again in Hudson on Friday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 80,

LONDONDERRY 24

The Cards are now 3-0 as they cruised at the Colligadome with Olivia Murray lead ing the way with 27 points, 25 in the first half. Brooke Paquette added 10 as 10 different Cardinals scored.

The two teams will square off again in Londonderry on Friday.

CAMPBELL 47,

MANCHESTER WEST 29

The Campbell girls picked up their first win of the season (1-2) , led by Tori Allen’s 20 points and 16 rebounds.

Senior Karleigh Schultz pitched in with 10 points and 12 boards while sophomore guard Alyvia Ashe added five points.

Campbell was aided by the return from quarantine of point guard Riley Gamache, jumping out to a 20-7 lead after the first quarter.

The Cougars take on another Division II foe, Timberlane, on Senior Night next Tuesday.

WLC-KEENE BOYS CANCELLED

The Keene school board officially cancelled all athletic competition for Keene High School until at least Feb. 1; thus the Keene vs. Wilton-Lyndeborough boys basketball game slated for Tuesday night was scrapped.
