WLC became the latest area school to approve winter sports. Actually, the Warriors only compete in one – basketball.

Reportedly the decision was made to allow basketball for the winter season, with practice starting Dec. 14. Masks will be mandatory for the student-athletes, but fans will not be allowed to attend games.

Elsewhere around the area:

Nashua North and South, as of now, will allow a limited number of home fans, but no visiting fans will be allowed at athletic events.

The Nashua athletic department announced that winter sports registration is officially open. To register, student athletes should go to the link posted on the Nashua Athletics twitter site, bit.ly/37saVv4.

Nashua North or South students that need a new baseline impact test should go to signup.com/go/obSejLY to register for an appointment for Thursday, Dec. 10.

Registraton at Merrimack High School is also open, as well as Milford. Go to those school web sites and click on the link to athletics. At both schools, it appears wrestling will not be offered this winter.

Skills and drills have already begun at Souhegan High School, with the schedule for those sessions posted at the SHS web site.
