Bow is a nice place to visit this time of year if you’re a Milford or Souhegan High School soccer fan.

The Spartan girls and Saber boys will both be heading there to face the respective Falcon squads in the Division II semifinals as a result of quarterfinal wins over Hollis Brookline on Sunday.

Also, add a football game to your schedule as Pelham was allowed to opt back in to the Division III playoffs, and this past Friday’s cancelled quarterfinal game with Campbell will be played tonight at 7 at Pelham.

Here are all the details:

BOYS SOCCER

DIVISION II QUARTERFINALS

SOUHEGAN 1,

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 0

Miles Drum scored the game’s only goal in the 44th minute in Hollis, converting a pass from Simon Trombley and putting the Sabers (4-4-1) in the semis.

Saber Jake Morrisette made a big save on an HB free kick 20 yards out down the stretch to preserve the win. It was a tough loss for the Cavs, who finished 7-1-1.

Morrisette finished with eight saves, while Cavs keeper Jackson Koopman had six.

“Playing smart, using the ball, space and the clock well was a key factor,” Saber coach Dave Saxe said.

GIRLS SOCCER

DIVISION II QUARTERFINALS

MILFORD 4,

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2

This was a family affair as the Spartans got three goals by Rachel Gizzonio in a span of 12 minutes in the second half, and her sister, Brook, tied the game at 1 in the final minute of the first half.

HB took a 1-0 lead on a Sophia Walle (assist to Rachel Brackett) goal two minutes in.

Brackett scored a goal, converting a Madeline Boudreau feed, to cut the Spartan lead to two, but the Cavs would come no closer.

FOOTBALL

CAMPBELL AT PELHAM TONIGHT

Yes, the Cougars don’t get a free pass to the semifinals after all.

Pelham opted out of the playoffs Friday after, reportedly, the high school had some virus concerns with a couple of positive tests.

However, parents put together a petition to get the football team back into the playoffs on Saturday and the Pelham administration reversed its decision. Also, the NHIAA and Campbell had to agree to the move as well.

Thus the Cougars, who lost to the Pythons 40-0 earlier this season, will head to Pelham tonight. The winner will face Monadnock, which eliminated Trinity on Friday, next weekend in the semis.
