Spartans get much needed win over Sanborn

A big Milford win on the hardwood and some impressive skiing by Nashua North and South highlight the high school happenings for Thurday:

BOYS BASKETBALL

MILFORD 60,

SANBORN 54

The 3-4 Spartans, who led by as many as 10 with five minutes to go, hung on after Sanborn (4-3) cut the lead to two with two minutes left thanks to hitting eight free throws down the stretch.

Jake Greska led the way with 25 points, 15 coming in the second half. Ryan Constable had 15, including three 3-pointers, while Christian Jones (eight points) and Joey Shepard (eight points, nine rebounds) also helped out.

Mlford visits rival Hollis Brookline Tuesday night.

SKIING

NASHUA NORTH BOYS FOURTH,

NASHUA SOUTH FIFTH

The Titans totalled 347 points, edging South (340) while finishing behind meet winner Bedford (394), Windham (370) and Pinkerton (359) at Pat’s Peak.

Tops for North were Andrew Barry (14, 1:12.74), Brendan McMahon (19, 1:17.87) and Cody Renshaw (32, 1:32.36). Connor Foti led South (21st, 1:18.80), followed by Rory Olsen (28, 1:26.35) and Ben Clark (30, 1:26.63).

NASHUA SOUTH

GIRLS FOURTH

The Panthers totaled 344 points, finishing behind meet winner Bedford (393), Pinkerton (370) and Windham (368).

Audra Robinson led South, finishing 17th in 1:17.18, while Abby Yekelchik (21, 1:21.12) and Jaimee Conmy (24, 1:22.63).

Nashua North had just three skiers compete: Zoe Goodman (20th, 1:20.77), Brooke D’Silva (31,1:29.48) and Elizabeth Crotty (41, 1:54.65).

(Wednesday)

The Warriors improved to 6-1 with another solid goaltending effort from Chris Slater and Rylan Morgan.

Cole Giersch lead the way with two goals and an assist followed by Paul Vachon with a goal and an assist. Sal Vella, Nick Dapolito, Jared Sanborn and Aidan Chretien also scored vfor the Warriors with assists by by Conor Sanborn, Mathew MacBean and Jacob Roy.

CO-ED UNIFIED BASKETBALL

KEENE 47,

NASHUA SOUTH 33

(Wednesday)

Panthers Shrikari Bachirju and Jason Boudle each had eight points and Ashton Henry-Brown, Yadiel Morales, Jasmine McHard and Connor Lee also scored.

CORRECTION
