Athletes from local high schools traveled to Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts to compete in the 69th Annual New England Interscholastic Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday afternoon. More than 25 teams and hundreds of athletes from throughout New England came out for the event.

Nashua North’s Zakari Jenkins was the big winner among local participants. The junior defended his 200-meter dash title, winning for a second-straight year. Jenkins broke his own school record with a time of 21.65 seconds. The Titans had three other top-ten finishers in Demitri Jackson (5th, triple jump), Marcel Laplante (10th, pole vault) and the 100-meter relay team (sixth; team included Chad Saint-Amant, William Goulding, Michael Pagan, Jenkins).

Campbell’s Sean Munnelly turned heads with a second-place finish in the 800-meter run. Teammates Keegan Tanguay (21st, pole vault) and Ben Billings (30th, pole vault) also participated in the meet.

Other local athletes in the boy’s events were Alvirne’s Kendall Westhoff (19th, 3200-meter run), Nashua South’s Tyler Doveno (23rd, 1600-meter run), Souhegan’s 400-meter relay team (20th; Ben Massa, Brady Camplin, Cameron Behn, Ben Platt) and Merrimack’s 400-meter relay team (22nd, Nick Masella, Nick Kachmar, Dylan Bealieu, Blake Williams).

Among the local girls, Milford’s Nicole McMorrow had a standout afternoon with a third-place finish in the triple jump. Teammate Olivia Rougeau finished ninth in the long jump while the school’s 100-meter relay team (consisting of Amy Arena, Devany Pitsas, Rougeau, McMorrow) finished in 11th.

Souhegan had participants in two events. Madeleine Hunt finished in 14th in the 1600-meter run while the school’s 800-meter relay team (Sarah Hurd, Amy Lambert, Min Lu Kelly-Durham, Hannah Culver) finished in 16th.

Other local athletes in the female events were Alvirne’s Brittney Lambert (9th, high jump), Nashua South’s Elizabeth Allard (12th, pole vault) and Hollis Brookline’s Lindsey Beauregard (15th, triple jump).
