Disenchanted by Republican direction

By Staff | Oct 29, 2014

As an independent voter, I’ve become increasingly disenchanted with the direction of the Repubican agenda. Scapegoating the government (now, especially, Obamacare), dismantling regulations and cutting taxes for the rich are failed policies.

Dismantling existing government The Great Recession we all continue to suffer with is a case in point. Imagine trying to drive from Milford to Nashua on Route 101A with no traffic lights, speed limits or police patrols. With relatively no rules, Wall Steet also went wild.

If a rich guy gets another $5,000, he may stick it in a Grand Caymans account or buy his wife an extremely fancy Italian shower curtain. If that same $5,000 goes to a thousand average people at $50 each, all that money will get quickly recycled through the economy, thus generating jobs. So raising the minimum wage makes good sense.

I’m also very disenchanted with Scott Brown and various other Republican leaders who are trying to dictate how women make important health care choices. Why don’t they focus on global warming rather than deny it? Or tackle a realistic immigration reform? Or close the loopholes in our tax code?
