On Election Day, Nov. 4, I will cast my vote for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. I know her very well. I served in our state Senate with her. I watched her work in a bipartisan way to accomplish much for our state. She compromised when appropriate and stuck to her guns when appropriate, always maintaining a civil discussion.

Did we agree on everything. No. But when we didn’t, we communicated and listened to each other. That’s the way government is supposed to operate – working together for what is right for our state and all its people.

Sen. Shaheen was a fine state senator, a superior governor and she has been a great U.S. senator.

I encourage all voters to join me in casting a vote for a woman who has led with confidence, effectiveness and independent critical thinking.
