Obamacare enrollment numbers a disaster

By Staff | Jan 19, 2014

The Obama administration released information this week that would suggest 2.2 million people have signed up for health insurance under Obamacare. At first glance, those numbers look pretty weak. At a second glance, those numbers are just plain disastrous. I would like to ask how many of those who have lost their insurance due to Obamacare are – more than 5 million – are included in that number?

No matter how you spin it, you come up with a net loss of Americans covered by health insurance. I then have to wonder how many of that 2.2 million have actually signed up for Medicaid, which is a government-sponsored welfare program for those who don’t qualify for Medicare. Those are not paying customers. Won’t that add to the national debt? And this program was supposed to reduce the debt?

And. finally. I would have to ask what happened to the millions of uninsured Americans that this program was designed for. When Obamacare was sold to us, we were told that anywhere from 20 to 40 million Americans lacked health insurance. Where are all those uninsured people in the statistics released by the government? It would appear we may actually have more people now without insurance then we had before this law went into effect. We should now be asking what was the real purpose of this very flawed bill that didn’t receive one Republican vote. How’s that fundamental transformation of America looking right about now.
