Rita Jane Farnsworth

Rita Jane Farnsworth, 86, died peacefully on, January 11, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman Farnsworth who predeceased her on January 22, 2012 after 58 years of marriage.

Rita was born in Augusta, Maine on March 29, 1935, and was the daughter of the late James Sangster Jr. .Hamilton and Mary Elizabeth Mooney Hamilton.

In her early years, she was employed as a nurse for Home and Health and she was also employed in food service at various companies for many years until her retirement. after that she cared for her grandson Kevin for 6 years While Gail worked.

In her free time, Rita was a phenomenal cook and baker. She would love to make delicious meals for friends and family but especially for big family gatherings, which she loved dearly. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and reading. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with Family. She resided in Pt St Lucie Florida with her childhood friend Carlene Chapman but came to Milford to be cared for by her daughter Gail once covid hit in 2020.

Rita is survived by her five children, Stephen Farnsworth and his wife Tammy of Nashua, Gail Sprague and her husband Jim of Milford, Brian Farnsworth, Gregory Farnsworth of Nashua, and Jeffrey Farnsworth and his wife Tina of Nashua; her seven grandchildren, Patty Paul, David Roy, Kevin Sprague, Scott Farnsworth, Tabitha Courtois Haley Farnsworth and one step granddaughter Selena Bouchard. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Kyle Johnston, Alyssa Johnston, Alana Johnston, and Adrian Coutu; her brother Jackie Hamilton and Shirley Hamilton of Westbrook maine her lifelong and best friend, Carlene Chapman of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

In addition to her husband, Norman, she was predeceased by her infant son, Scott Farnsworth, her sister Jane Lord, and her brother James Hamilton Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to Rita’s visitation on TUESDAY, January 18th from 5 until 8 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. Her Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, January 19th at 10 AM in St. Kathryn Church, 4 Dracut Road, Hudson, NH. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Patrick Cemetery, Hudson.
