Frank Lawrence Leo Crilley

Frank Lawrence Leo Crilley of Merrimack, New Hampshire passed away on Sept 23rd, 2021. Frank was born in Malden, Massachusetts on December 20th, 1934 and was the son of Leo Gustin and Phoebe (Pratt) Crilley.

Frank graduated from Malden Highschool in 1953 and then enlisted in the US Airforce where he received training as an Air Traffic Controller. After the completion of his enlistment, Frank married Helena (Nina) Ruth Lepper, his neighborhood sweetheart, and they started their family together in Malden. Frank started his employment with the FAA as an Air Traffic Controller working at the Logan Airport tower. In 1962, Frank and his family moved to Nashua, New Hampshire, where he worked at the Boston Air Route Traffic Control Center for 24 years. Frank retired from the FAA in 1986.

Frank and Nina enjoyed their many trips driving across the country and visiting National Parks and other landmarks. He also loved to spend time at his Balch Pond cottage, which the entire family built together. Frank was very resourceful and enjoyed any and all projects around the house. He closely tracked the weather and was an avid runner. Frank ran over 10 miles per day for 35 years, all seasons regardless of the weather.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Helena Crilley and his two sisters, Althea Wolfkopf of Osterville, MA, and Barbara Parsons of Reading, MA. Frank is survived by his three sons and daughter: Gary Crilley and his wife Diane of Portsmouth, NH, Ronald Crilley of Encinitas, CA, Glenn Crilley and his wife Wendy of Dover, NH, and Terry McGreevy and her husband Tom of Nashua, NH. Frank is also survived by 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
