Arlene Shapiro

Arlene Shapiro, 94, of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully August 24, 2021, at the Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was born in Nashua, March 9, 1927, to parents Abraham and Edith (Fagerson) Shapiro.

Arlene graduated from Nashua High School in 1945 and went on to graduate from Nashua Business College 1947. She took her degree down to Wellesley Hills, MA., where she worked for Lee Chevrolet Dealership for many years. She returned to Nashua in 1972 and worked for Sanders Associates (now BAE Systems) as a Secretary in the Contracts Department. She worked there for 17 years until her retirement in 1990.

After her retirement, Arlene enjoyed volunteering at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in the gift shop until 2017. She also spent over 25 years enjoying the weather of Boca Raton, FL, during the winters with family.

Arlene is predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Edith Shapiro, her sisters Rosalyn (Shapiro) Lewis, Frances Dix, and nephew Michael Dix.

She is survived by niece Ellen Lewis-Teague, nephew Stephen Lewis, great niece Courtney McBride, great nephew Aaron Crooker, great-great-niece Caitlin McBride, and great-great nephew Hunter McBride. She will be deeply missed.

SERVICES: A grave side service will be held August 26, 2021 at 1:15 pm at Temple Beth Abraham Cemetery, 428 W Hollis St, Nashua, NH 03062. Friends and family are invited to attend.
