Carolyn Jane Loranger

Jul 15, 2021

Carolyn Jane Loranger, 61, of Hampstead NH passed away on July 13, 2021 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack NH after several illnesses. She was born in Nashua, NH on November 13, 1959 to the late Normand and Ellen (Oddy) Loranger of Nashua.

She was intellectually disabled as an infant due to complications resulting in brain damage. She was able to live a full and robust life as an adult, and had many friends and staff members whose company she so enjoyed. Carolyn found joy in the simple things in life. Going out for coffee, dining out with family, and discussing what others had for dinner were some of her favorite things. She was friendly to everyone she met, greeting them with a handshake and a sincere smile. She could put together complicated jigsaw puzzles in record time, and was an excellent bowler. She loved to laugh and joke and make others laugh too. Carolyn attended day programs full time at Life Visions in Atkinson, NH, where she also held a part time job and visited the gym to walk and swim. She attended adult education classes at Salem High School one evening a week.

Carolyn taught life lessons to those who knew her and was an inspiration on many levels despite her limitations.

Along with her parents, she was pre-deceased by her brother Christopher Loranger.

She is survived by her sister and guardian Judith McLean of New Boston, brother Douglas Loranger, brother Jeffrey Loranger, sister Deborah Loranger, and sister Jennifer Bartlett, all of Nashua, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her family also wants to acknowledge the many staff members from the Nashua Center, Life Visions, and Community Crossroads, her roommates Koko and Laurida, and particularly Michael Mancini, all of whom played significant roles in her life.

A graveside service will be held at the New Boston Cemetery on Saturday, July 17th at 11 AM.
