Truus de Iongh

May 29, 2021

Truus de Iongh, 77, died surrounded by loved ones at her home on Monday, May 24, 2021, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Truus was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands on August 21, 1943, and was the daughter of the late Herman and Cornelia E. (Laarhoven) Kromhout. She immigrated to America at age 13 and soon after met her husband Edward at an international picnic in Boston. They have been married for 60 years.

Truus was a no nonsense kind of person who could always be counted on to say exactly what was on her mind. She was a devoted follower of Christ and she definitely made sure you knew it! She was an active long-standing member of Trinity Baptist Church where the members were like a second family throughout the years.

She was a hard worker- both on the job and at home raising five children. After her retirement, she really enjoyed working with children as a para substitute in local schools.

She enjoyed traveling, loved family gatherings with lots of food (especially dessert), and she absolutely loved finding a bargain!

She provided so many people with love and light and will be dearly missed, but she will live on forever in our hearts.

In addition to her husband Edward, she is survived by her five children, Anita Michaud and her husband Marc of Nashua, Monique Quirion and her husband Michael of Nashua, Michelle Soule and her husband Michael of Newburyport, MA, David de Iongh of Nashua and Paul de Iongh and his wife Kathryn of Rye; her 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Alishia, Kayla, Emorie, Isabel, Kelsey, Noah, Miles, and Lowynn; as well as her two great grandchildren, Kayson and Jovani. Truus is also survived by her two brothers, Roelof Kromhout and his wife Helen of Beverly, MA and Frits Kromhout and his wife Joanne of Marlton, NJ; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family in Holland.

At the request of Truus’ family, all services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Truus’ name to Home, Health, and Hospice, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack, NH 03054. Arrangements under the care of Rochette Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. To leave an online condolence, story, or message please visit www.ANCTIL-ROCHETTE.com.
