Sheryl ‘Sherry’ Marie Dopson

Sheryl “Sherry” Marie Dopson, 69, of Merrimack passed away at home on Saturday, May 8th, with her family by her side.

She was born on April 21, 1952 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, daughter of Harry and JoAnn Dopson. Sherry was a graduate of Merrimack High School, Class of 1970, finishing in the top quarter of her class and a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated with an Associate Degree in Accounting with honors from New Hampshire College in 1975. After graduation she was employed with the Town of Merrimack in the Town Clerk’s office and then at Merrimack Valley Home Health Care doing statistical work.

Sherry was an avid Cribbage player and rarely lost a game. She loved crocheting, reading, jigsaw puzzles, baking, and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of The First Church of Merrimack where she cherished the Word of God and loved singing hymns with God’s people. She belonged to the Ladies’ Aid Society at the Church using her crochet talent to offer many donations to the Annual Church Fair each November.

Sherry always had a smile on her face and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was pre-deceased by her father, Harry, in 2000, and is survived by her mother, JoAnn of Merrimack, her Uncle, Tom Barber of Arden Hills, Minnesota, and 3 brothers-Jeffrey L. Dopson and his wife Donna of Nashua, Timothy M. Dopson and his wife Christine of Northwood, and Michael P. Dopson and his wife Rae Ann of Merrimack-along with five nephews and two nieces, and 3 grand nephews and 3 grand nieces.

Family and friends are invited to a calling/visitation hour Wednesday, June 2nd at 10am held at First Church of Merrimack in the Fellowship Hall, 7 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, NH, followed by a funeral service at 11am in the Sanctuary and burial at Last Rest Cemetery immediately following the service.
