Eileen C. Lacy

May 11, 2021

NASHUA, NH – Eileen C. (Doyle) Lacy, age 76, a resident of Nashua, NH for 19 years, passed away at Lowell General Hospital suddenly from cardiac complications on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas E. Lacy, Sr. who passed away on September 6, 2008.

Born in Cambridge on September 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late J. Edmund Doyle and the late N. Beatrice (Moriarty) Doyle.

Eileen was raised in Cambridge until moving to Tewksbury. She attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Keith Hall Catholic High School in 1962.

Following her wedding to Tom, she dedicated her life to her husband, and raising their three children. On occasion she worked outside the home selling real estate and doing administrative work. She was also the bookkeeper for her husband and brother’s building business, Southwest Builders.

Eileen was a devout communicant and supporter of St. Joseph the Worker Parish of Nashua, NH. She treasured her church community and the companionship of her many church friends and fellow parishioners.

Eileen was a tremendous baker, hostess, and homemaker. No one ever left her home having an empty stomach or without receiving some delicious treat (or two) to take with them.

In earlier years, she and her late husband enjoyed their lake house, traveling the United States in their motorhome, and visiting relatives in Texas. In addition, Eileen enjoyed playing the game of Dominos with her children, grandchildren, and her church friends. She also enjoyed the many hours spent with her grandchildren attending their sporting and school events, as well as giving them individual cooking lessons.

Eileen was very generous to many charities. She enjoyed helping others. She often said this warmed her heart. We ask that in her memory that you please perform an act of kindness. This will make her smile from above.

She is survived by her three children, Thomas E. Lacy, Jr. and Diane Norton of Stephens City, Virginia, Cheryl J. (Lacy) Batherwich and her husband Frank of Dracut, and Rhonda E. Lacy of Haverhill; her grandchildren, Brittany R. Lacy and Thomas J. Lacy, Erin C. Batherwich, David A. and Riley J. Sergi; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members in Texas, Canada, and locally.

Eileen was the grandmother of the late Shannon E. Lacy and Timothy J. Lacy, and sister of the late Ronald J. Doyle.

Calling hours are Wednesday, May 12, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, MA. Family and friends are invited to meet at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, at St. Joseph the Worker Church, 777 West Hollis Street, Nashua, NH for her Funeral Mass. Masks, social distancing, and gathering limitations are necessary. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury, MA.
