Mary A. Carr

Mary A. Carr, 95, passed away at Hanover Terrace Wednesday, April 14, 2021. She was born in Nashua, NH on September 30, 1925 to Margaret A. (Cornick) and Hiram Covey and graduated from Nashua High School. After earning a teaching degree from Hawthorne College, Mary taught for many years at Hanover Street School in Lebanon.

Mary raised ten children. She was a beautiful seamstress making many of her children’s clothes, including her daughter’s wedding dresses. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children, Richard (Deborah) Goodwin of Lebanon, NH, Wendy (Paul) Hodge of Topsham, VT, Margaret Dimmick of Grantham, NH, Geneva (Robert) Preble of Windsor, VT, Tracy (Dorothy) Carr of Lebanon, NH, Tammy (Jeffery) Durand of Wilder, VT, and Jamie (partner, Joanne Bailey) of Lebanon, NH; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise deMontigny of Nashua, NH.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram and Margaret Covey; husband, James Carr; sons, Gary Goodwin, Harold Goodwin, and Thomas Goodwin; and granddaughter, Ashley Durand.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Valley Cemetery in Lebanon, NH.
