Rachel Y. (Maynard) Simoneau

Rachel Y. (Maynard) Simoneau, 93, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021 at Langdon Place, the home she loved for 7 years. Rachel was the daughter of the late Wilbrod and Antoinette (Poulin) Maynard. A lifelong resident of Nashua, Rachel was a 1946 graduate of Nashua High School and married Edgar Simoneau with whom she raised 11 children.

Rachel was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish. She loved her role as a homemaker and hosted countless family gatherings at the family’s Lake Street home until the age of 85. She relished her time at the family summer cottage on Big Island Pond in Hampstead. Rachel’s greatest source of pride and joy was her family!

Rachel supported her husband in establishing Leda Lanes on Amherst Street in Nashua in 1959 and served as bookkeeper for several years. She loved to travel, enjoyed her weekly bowling league, and played whist, cribbage and Scrabble. She was well loved by a large circle of friends.

She is survived by five sons and their wives, Bill and Bobbie Simoneau of Deerfield, Dan and Chris Simoneau of Nashua, David and Maria Simoneau of Nashua, Leon and Sherry Simoneau of Manchester, and Donald and Lorene Simoneau of Bedford, MA.

Rachel also leaves six daughters and their spouses, Connie and Barry Breen of Windham, Jeanne and Allan Hulse of Moultonborough, Louise and Gary Remillard of Bedford, NH, Marie and David Goranson of North Port, FL, Nancy Simoneau and Chris Boucher of Manchester, and Diane Simoneau and her partner Keith Morgan of St. Albans, UK.

She was blessed with 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Rachel was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Edgar Simoneau and their infant son Marc, her brother, Ernest Maynard and two sisters, Evelyn Gaucher and Lucille Wozniak.

Relatives and friends are invited to Rachel’s Funeral Mass that will take place on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 10:30am in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 777 W Hollis Street, Nashua, NH.
