Herbert C. Dutton

Herbert C. Dutton of Turnersville, NJ, age 92, went to be with the Lord on February 23, 2021. Beloved husband of Elsie (late). Devoted father of Eric C. (Linda), Jon E. (Dawn), and Karen. Loving grandfather of Philip and Jennifer (late). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and one brother-in-law.

After graduating Nashua HS in 1946, Herb became a lineman for the telephone company until he enlisted in the Army and served in Korea from December 1948 – June 1951. He received his college degree from Drexel in 1972. He worked as an electrical engineer for General Electric and then ASEA Brown Boveri, and retired in 1992.

Herb was heavily involved in Scouting (both Boy and Girl), Little League, Lay Witness Missions, Kairos Prison Ministries, and was a volunteer chaplain at Bayside Prison. Herb was an active member of St. John’s Methodist Church since 1965.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service Saturday, February 27th at 2:00pm at St. John’s Methodist Church, 149 Ganttown Road, Turnersville, NJ 08012. This service will also be live-streamed as mentioned on the website below. Services are under the direction of EGIZI FUNERAL HOME.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Herb’s memory to St. John’s Methodist Church at the above address.
