Mary E. (Duffy) Florczak

Mary Elizabeth Florczak, (Marybeth) 75, of Hudson, NH passed away peacefully on January 3rd at 6:55PM, after battling cancer for 8 years.

Born on July 07, 1945 in Orange, NJ to Gerard and Rita (Sweeney) Duffy, she graduated from Benedictine Academy, Elizabeth, NJ. She furthered her education at Eastern School for Medical Assistants, NYC, NY, and received her AS in nursing from Rivier College, Nashua, NH. She met and married her husband, Adam, on June 03, 1967. They lived in New Jersey before moving to Plano Texas, then eventually Hudson, NH.

After raising their children, she enjoyed working with her co-workers at the Hitchcock Clinic, Nashua NH for 11 years and moved from Adult Medicine to Occupational Health, where she supervised their drug Consortium. Her true love was volunteering for Home Health & Hospice of Merrimack, NH for 10 years, where she participated in maintaining their gardens, home and nursing home visits, patient transportation and a member of their vigil team.

Marybeth was a 44 year active member of St Kathryn Parish, Hudson NH. She served as a minister of the Holy Eucharist, an officer of the Vocation Support Association, member of the Mercy Meal Ministry and volunteered for annual parish events, Ann Marie House and the Nashua soup kitchen.

She loved to travel with Adam, her husband of 53 years. Yearly cruises were always a joy to plan, and parish trips to Italy and Ireland always created wonderful memories. Marybeth also enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and treasured time spent together with family and grandchildren at their lake home in Croydon, NH.

Besides her loving husband, Marybeth is survived by her two sons and a daughter, Adam G. and his wife Jessica of Pleasant Plain, Ohio, Christopher M. and his wife Danielle of Cumming, Georgia, and Mary Kathryn of Hudson NH, 3 grandchildren, Nolan and Liam of Georgia and Cathleen Rose of Ohio, several nieces and a nephew. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Gerard E. Duffy of Nevada, Dennis M. Duffy of Louisiana and Timothy P. Duffy of New Jersey.

Marybeth sincerely appreciated the collaborative work of her oncology team made up of: Dr. G. Rao, SNHRMC, Nashua, NH, Dr. R. Sisodia, Mass General, Boston MA., Dr. A. McKee, Lahey Burlington, MA. She was blessed with the gift of a strong faith, and was very grateful for all the wonderful angels of St Kathryn parish that helped her on her journey.

A Walk Through Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11th from 3:00pm – 6:00pm at St. Kathryn’s Church located at 4 Dracut Rd. in Hudson, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 12th at 10AM in St Kathryn’s Church. All may meet at church. Burial will take place immediately following in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hudson, NH. All those attending any portion of the services are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering as well as to please follow the social distancing guidelines in place.
