Gordon James Rhyner

Gordon James Rhyner, aged 83, passed away peacefully under the care of hospice in The Villages, Florida. There will be a Funeral Mass said at St. Timothy’s in The Villages on July 31 at 8:30 am.

Gordon was born on June 14, 1937 in Stetsonville, Wisconsin to parents Gilbert and Mary Rhyner. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Irene Rhyner. He worked as a salesman for the Soo Line Railroad for 37 years prior to retiring. In 2005 Gordon and Irene moved south to sunny Florida.

He was pre-deceased by his beloved sisters, Marie Gehrig and Diane Johnson.

He is survived by: His sister Norma Grittner and her husband, Mike, of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; his brothers Alan Rhyner and his wife, Dorothy, of Prentice, Wisconsin and Everett Rhyner and his wife, Elizabeth, of The Villages, Florida; also his brothers-in-law Mike Gehrig and Richard Johnson of Wisconsin. His daughters Cheryl Bukofske and her husband Alan, and their five children Crystal, David, Nathanial, Nadine and Victoria; Robin Nenarella and her husband Rocco, and three children Brent, Ryan and Brooke; Mary Fauteux and her husband Marc and their two children Levi and Olivia. His sons Brad Rhyner and his four children, Christopher, Shawn, Braden and Ashlynn; Marc Rhyner and his three children, Jacob, Emma and Jordan. Stepdaughters Deborah Todd and husband John; Jacqueline and Matt Richardson and daughter Gina. Stepson John Dalessio and wife Tracey and three children Jay, Nathan and Olivia. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and many cherished extended family.

He will surely be missed by all who knew him. His open-hearted and giving nature affected all who knew him, and they were better people for it.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be planned in the Spring in Hudson, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul or the American Cancer Society.
