Jun 26, 2020

Nashua – Martin George Ayers, age 67, died December 24, 2019, in Florence, SC. He was born in W. Bloomfield, NY and was the son of Donald F. and Margaret Ayers. Marty and his family moved to Nashua in 1960. He was a graduate of Nashua High School. During his teenage years, Marty spent most of his days learning about and falling in love with British motorcycles at Bishop’s Motorcycle Shop on W. Hollis St., now Gate City Cycle. His love of all motor vehicles led him to a lifelong career at Pine Motor Parts of Nashua, where he lovingly became known as “Marty from Pines” and soon became like family to his employer, the Chaput family.

Marty was a free spirit and enjoyed racing his motorcycles, motorcycle road trips and camping with friends. He especially loved dogs. Marty traveled extensively with two of his dogs in a custom made sidecar. After he retired, Marty lived with his dog and cat in his beloved Airstream, the “Free and Easy”. He split his time between Nashua, W. Bloomfield, W. Newbury, VT and South Carolina.

Marty is survived by three sisters, Barbara Robinson (George Saxby), Jennifer (Roland) Poirier and Denise Ayers (Susan James); many nieces and nephews; extended family; many good friends; and dog, Princess Gingersnap. He was predeceased by his siblings, Donald F. Ayers, Jr., Bruce Ayers, Anita Greenwood and Patricia Smith; brother-in-law, Gary Greenwood; nephews, Matthew Robinson and Donald F. Ayers III.

A celebration of Marty’s life will be held at a later date and time to be announced. Condolences may be offered at www.johnsonkennedy.com.
