Ronald W. Olive

NASHUA – Ronald “Ron” Warren Olive, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at his home after a brief illness.

Ronald was born in Massachusetts on February 1, 1948, a son of the late Warren D. and Doris (Patterson) Olive. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1965 and then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Suffolk University in 1972 and later received his Master of Arts degree in History from Salem State College in 1973. He was published in the local newspaper at that time for his achievement. Ronald furthered his education receiving his Master of Arts degree in Economics from Northeastern University in 1977.

Throughout Ron’s life he taught at several institutions, including the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Rivier University in Nashua and New Hampshire Community Technical College in Nashua.

Ronald was a professor of economics and devoted his life to teaching. He was always passionate about reading and learning as much as he could to help others. He was known as a tough grader but was quoted by one of his students as being “extraordinarily passionate about his job and economics”. Ron also enjoyed traveling around the world, including his trips to Europe. Ron will be greatly missed by all of his students for whom he taught, and by everyone who knew and loved him.

Due to current public health and safety concerns, no services will be held at this time. An Inurnment Service may take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ronald’s name to an educational institution of your choice.
