Gertrude Asselin

Gertrude “Gert” Asselin, age 91, a former resident of Hudson, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at her home in Oviedo, FL surrounded by her loving family. Born October 19, 1928 in Nashua, NH, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lydia (Nadeau) Dube of Hudson, NH.

Gert was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Hudson. She was an administrative secretary at Sanders Associates for many years. In addition to being an accomplished seamstress, she was an amazing cook and baker. She was known for her delicious Christmas breads that she loved to bake each year for family, friends, and neighbors.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 67 years, Roger Asselin, of Oviedo, FL; her son, Alan Asselin, of Boston; her daughter, Alecia and son-in-law Phillip Ouellette of Oviedo; her grandchildren Christopher, Andrew, and Jacob Asselin and Jeremiah and Emily Ouellette; her sisters Theresa Gendron of Hudson, Alice Lavoie of Londonderry, Claire Bouffard and her husband Paul, of Concord, NH; her brothers Dr. Leo Dube and his wife Priscilla of Concord, NH and Paul Dube and his wife Marcye, of Manchester, NH; and her sisters-in-law Leona Belanger and Annette Asselin, both of Nashua; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services and interment will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in her memory to the national American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) at aspca.org.
